1. Thought this might be a help to anyone that is getting this error.

On December 9, 2010, Geotrust updated their certificate signing process to include an intermediate CA to sign the request. Here is what they said specifically:

On 9th December 2010, RapidSSL (Geotrust) has successfully completed its public root certificate authorities (CAs). All RapidSSL and RapidSSL wildcard certificates issued later this date will be signed from the upgraded CA signature and hierarchy.

The upgrade increased the RSA key length, and related strength, of each CA from 1024-bit to 2048-bit. Certificates from the new CAs will be issued from intermediate roots, creating a stronger, chained CA hierarchy.

Existing valid certificates issued off of current 1024-bit RSA keys will continue to operate correctly and securely after the upgrade.

So on cPanel here is what you have to do if your secure websites are getting this error…

      1. Login to WHM.

      2. Click on Install a SSL Certificate and Setup the Domain

      3. Enter your domain name and click browse.

      4. After your certificate and key appears, place the certificate below in the last box called CA bundle and click Submit. All should now be fixed.

      Intermediate: RapidSSL CA
